Critical Practice
About
« You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time. »
Angela Davis, during a 2014 lecture at Southern Illinois University.
Critical thinking and critical theory include many strands.
Re-directing our energy in decolonial and queer theory – CP curriculum focuses on Black, Brown, Asian and Queer theorists, often diminished in critical thinking but who have long been central and necessary.
To impose a collaborative, inclusive and critical practice/praxis – this demands a responsibility to decolonise curricula and programmes, build on positivity towards/and inclusivity in terms of gender and race discourses, and demonstrate openness, intersectional, responsive and critical juxtaposition methods.
RCA2022 for CP and CAP artists include aspirations, desires, promises, prospects all in the faith of an intransigent and resilient spirit.
