Critical Practice

Hanna Margetson-Rushmore

Hanna Margetson-Rushmore is an Artist based in London. She holds a BFA in Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design and is currently completing an MA in Contemporary Art Practice within the Critical Practice pathway at the Royal College of Art. Her fine art practice is interdisciplinary with a current interest in how image and text can be used to create and question individual and societal emotional and physical responses and preconceptions. Language is key to her process as in an increasingly visual world we rely on it and text more than we realise. Text is used as a building block to both reveal and conceal, thus her works that appear simplistic became more complex with viewer engagement. The visual end result is usually referential of an experience or perception of an object, place or text.

Show Location: Battersea campus: Studio Building, Second floor

To create. interpretations is an ongoing collaborative archive project started in 2020. Collaborators are invited to respond to instructions through which, new systems of solving are found. There is no "right" answer, the collaborator can respond in any way they wish including no physical response at all.
