Noni Zhangz–eight years after she bid farewell to bipolar disorder, she still yearn for a certain feverishness: "Run! Mellors", written by Osamu Dazai, the embodiment of Mellors constantly running under a burning sun and the image of "Quafoo chasing after the sun" in Chinese mythology are fatally romantic to her. The world is empty, the real world may be an illusion from the collision of the "immaterial". As Buddhists use “Sumeru Mountain" to visualize the Buddhist view of the universe, Noni uses a series of “New Landscapes" to represent her view of the universe: disembodied, disordered, no personality–human, animal, and plant–are all one.
Noni Zhang extracted a large number of strokes from ancient Chinese paintings and turned them into digital brushes to paint. Finally, she applied these digital Landscapes as the materials/textures to digital model, which was made by the Cinema4D program, and exported the animation work “New Landscape NO.0.”
