When looking at the sky through the gaps between leaves, my vision will always penetrate the gaps and eventually stay in the sky behind the leaves.
I apply this gap structure in my paintings, and combine it with positive and negative forms, nature images and empty spaces so as to develop a viewing based on distance. I hope that in the process of getting close to the paintings viewers can find that objects disappear or emerge continuously.
I take this penetrating viewing and body movements as my way to question and deconstruct scenes from daily-life and domestic objects as well, metaphorically and poetically. In a way it was my attempt to defend subjectivity and dignity because I am deeply suspicious of the dichotomy between so-called 'tough work and enjoyable daily life'.
For me, a private space such as a home has never been the safest or the most comfortable plac, and it is also fraught with problems.
My private space is my battlefield.
