Deeply rooted in the traditional crafts of weaving, knitting and stitch, textile practice continues to evolve, to tell stories and communicate ideas of today. How do we draw on and explore this rich heritage, and adapt and innovate methods and techniques? What are the roles of materials, processes, technology and values in guiding innovation? How do we navigate these to rewrite systems of production and consumption? Join Albane Ceyrat and Lily Way as they probe and explore the meaning of, and boundary between, tradition and innovation in contemporary textile practice.
