Global Innovation Design (MA/MSc)

About

Head of Programme, GID – Gareth Loudon

It is our great pleasure to showcase the work of the graduating cohort of 2022. The MA/MSc Global Innovation Design (GID) programme is run jointly between the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London and is about developing new innovators who can help create lasting positive impacts for people and the planet.

The programme’s transdisciplinary approach to innovation combines the skills and cultures of the two internationally renowned institutions. The unique programme also partners with four other world-leading institutions from China, Japan, Singapore and the USA, normally enabling the GID students to travel and explore new territories and cultures as part of their learning journey. However, over the last two years this has been a more complicated journey in many ways for the students. Therefore, they have been challenged to find new creative ways to collaborate, innovate and understand different cultures and contexts.

The work in the show will give you some insight into their journey and learning over the last two years, but will predominantly focus on their impressive ideas and innovations. Themes covered in the show include healthcare and wellbeing, managing climate crises, environmental restoration, energy management, intersectionality, citizen science and supporting creativity. We hope you will be able to attend the physical exhibition so that you get a chance to experience the work produced directly and meet the graduating students in person. If not, please explore the rich media online and reach out to our graduating students to find out more.
