Statement

What is Design? What could Design change? Is design Result-oriented?

I came to RCA in search of answers but was surprised that after two years of study I left with more questions.

<A Game About Communication> is inspired by my daily observation that second language speakers seem to have two personalities when speaking a different language. Apparently, they are more lacking in confidence.

However,

  • Is unconfident a negative trend?
  • Do they really perform worse than native speakers?
  • How do we encourage Equality Communication?
  • What if we put people feeling about speaking a second language in the game?

Let's find out the answer ;p

A Game About Communication

Based on my interviews, people feel anxious and lack confidence when speaking a second language, because of that, they subconsciously more interactive and create more non-verbal communication

My project aims to explore the diversity and possibilities of communication through an experimental 'tabletop game' while questioning whether 'lack of confidence is a negative or positive tendency'.

The game encourages more unconventional forms of communication and interaction, for example by restructuring and interrupting words (to keep players on their toes), manipulating facial expressions, and so on.

Medium: Table top game

Size: 10*15cm

Is 'Lack of Confidence' A Negative Tendency?

lokaReboon - A sustainable materials made from recycled balloons

lokaReboon is a sustainable brand that provides products and materials made from recycled balloons.

Due to the excellent strength and abrasion resistance of the rubber, the lokaReboon is also flexible and waterproof and has a long life cycle. At the same time, the rich colours of the balloons are preserved in the new material, so no secondary dyeing or industrial wastewater is created.

The Reboon Team's aim:

‣ Establish a complete balloon recycling system and supply chain ‣ Secondary creation of colours, artwork or crafts, co-creation with artists

‣ Enrich the product range and develop a diverse product branch line

‣ Provide personalised and customised services for users to participate in the co-creation ‣ Tracking the origin of product materials with blockchain technology.
