Ksenia Germanovich is a textile designer and researcher, with a background in scientific research and education.

While completing her PhD in Milan, Ksenia was exposed to innovative design thinking and beautifully crafted artefacts, juxtaposed with mass produced garments and products of the highstreet, which lacked authenticity or connection to the consumer. This challenged her to question material culture and existing approaches to sustainability within the textile industry. By placing herself within the design world she aims to understand and redefine the relationship between consumers and textile outcomes.

Ksenia enjoys collaboration and working to support collective and individual creativity.

Ksenia Germanovich-statement

As a textile designer and researcher, I craft experiences for end-users of textiles to engage in the creative process of design. Exploring co-design methods, and drawing on human-centred and generative design research, I combine coding, wool and textile processes to devise ways to support the creative agency of consumers in the making of textile outcomes. By empowering consumers through the sharing and transfer of creative authorship, and redefining their role as participants, I aim to contribute to design approaches for well-being and sustainability.
