Rui Zhong-statement

TROT(S) is short for "the rhythm of the sole".

This work is dedicated to offering people a new way of walking meditation, by redirecting people's attention to the rhythm of the gait, encouraging them to actively gain the perception of the body during the change of the movement and surroundings.

In this fast-paced era, people find it hard to relieve increasing stress, for they spend more time commuting, working, and studying. Such repetitive routines gradually numb their mind. Research has shown that walking is the most effective way to reduce stress, which is beneficial for both physical and mental health.

In the process of walking, the feet are the medium of direct contact between people and the world, and the rhythm of the gait is the direct perception of the body's response. However, people habitually use walking as a tool of inertial functioning. While walking, people move mechanically from a familiar place to another, which is like the walking dead.

Thus, the TROT(S)'s meditation is to offer people the journey that they can actively gain the perception of the body to seek how it reacts to the changing environment, relieving the stress from life and work.
