Sarah-Athina Nahas is a Lebanese-French artist. She grew up in Beirut where she also graduated from ALBA (Académie-Libanaise des Beaux-Arts) with an Illustration and Comics degree.
She is currently based in London, where she studies and works, but also graduated in 2020 from Wimbledon College of Arts (UAL) with a second degree in painting
For the past few years she has been part of group shows in the UK, and also the curator and host of Four Hands Meet; live events that aim to create an active conversation between sound and drawing, but that also emphasises on a performative and experimental approach of drawing.
In recent years, her approach to painting has shifted towards an emphasis on textile being the main actor of her works. Nevertheless, she tries not to box her practice as it is always shifting and its very nature is experimental. Her works usually end up having a hybrid nature; in between an embroidery a painting and a patchwork, not quite being one but not quite being the other.
