VO SIMS is an online vocational simulation service that allows design students to experience real work in different design positions. There is a serious disconnect between the university curriculum and practical work, and the curriculum is not sufficiently up-to-date and lacks professional orientation for career choice. Students lack career enlightenment and education, and they give little thought to the question of career interests. Internships are difficult to obtain and the threshold for workplace practice is very high, especially for Year One, Year Two, and students who don’t have a portfolio. How might we help design students to experience and better understand the practical work of different positions in the design field, discover their interests and strengths, and find a suitable career path for them?
So, there is the VO SIMS. We offered two types of service: One day SIMS: 3.5-hour experience of a design position in a specific industry/company and working on fragmented tasks. And Project SIMS:4-8 weeks of project experience working on a practical project from 0 to complete.
