Minwook Paeng

Texture Palette is a texture simulating solution for creating the physical experience of VR content. Hardware and software innovations of Texture Palette provide tactile interaction beyond the screen. We can feel the texture of digital objects in VR content, such as roughness, hardness, temperature and pattern. This is the next paradigm shift in VR interaction and allows us to interact with immersive and realistic VR experiences.

Challenge the standard

Minwook Paeng is a transdisciplinary industrial designer based in the highly inspirational city of London, UK and also in Seoul, South Korea. Before his master’s degree, he worked with Samsung, LG, and Hyundai to develop his capabilities by working as a designer. He is interested in the convergence of design and emerging technologies and aims to change the world based on future innovative solutions.

During the IDE course, his projects have been featured on various platforms including Reuters, Dezeen, WIRED, Fastcompany, Dazed and made headlines around the world. In the London Design Festival exhibition set by OPPO X RCA, his project was the final winner of the year. Also, recently, he was selected as a scholar by the Pokémon Company International.

The Pokémon Company International

The Pokémon Scholarship has been established for the Royal College of Art (RCA), a postgraduate art school with a campus in the South Kensington district of London, England. The intent is to support students who will bring about the next age of advancement through their creative art and design skills. Through this scholarship, the company hopes to give back to the world by encouraging creative and innovative art and design and by supporting students who will blaze paths into new territories in the future.
