Nuo Chen

Nuo Chen is a self-explorative textiles artist and storyteller.

Born in China and based between London and Shanghai, Nuo’s interest in textiles started early through an extensive journey in fashion. Throughout the dialogue with the body, the sensitive artist has developed a keen interest in the subtle relationship between the person, space and emotion. Her creations have constantly revolved around these three key words. The further study at the RCA has expanded Nuo's artistic expression. Building upon her understanding of materials and mixed media expressions, Nuo uses a unique visual language to tell the story of the times. Her work emphasizes "profound observation" and takes the viewer on a journey to discover the other side of people, things and life. Rooted in poetic, narrative, and artisanal traditions, it invites viewers to connect empathically through affect-driven mediums.
