Innovation Design Engineering (MA/MSc)

Runze Zhu

This is a project in which I explored new ways of dealing with people’s digital assets left behind after death. You’ll see how the project is developed from a phenomenon to an idea in my head and finally to concepts that have been evaluated and testified.

I found the germ of the idea in comments that discuss their wills and funerals published by most of them rather at a young age. What appeals to me is, that a lot of the comments have mentioned their data legacy.

ELEGOS is a platform which provides several services around people’s data legacy. One is to erase part of the online data and download some of them and provide a container to preserve the data. The other one is to use the data preserved to produce practical and emotional value. In this project, the usage of music was a case to demonstrate the process.

Show Location: Kensington campus: Darwin Building, Lower ground floor
