I am a fashion designer and illustrator at the same time.
My work is devoted to pushing the boundary between fashion and art and exploring my instincts and desires - to connect the natural world with the emotive one in multi-sensory and multi-disciplinary ways.
I value the low-tech hand-making process in my practice which can bring warmth and emotion to design.
This project is an exploration of my identity and instincts. It starts from my childhood memories. I spent my childhood with my gardener parents in a small traditional Chinese garden in the middle of the city. Trees were my friends at that time. However, I felt I am losing that connection during the process of growing up because I left my hometown and live more and more in the big city. Loss is inevitable in one’s growth. I am not intending to turn back to the little girl who found comfort within the branches of a tree. I want to reunion with the friendship with nature from the perspective of my present self through my visual voice.
