2022 - Final Year Project

I have been fascinated by the innovative and imaginative works of Leonardo Da Vinci since I was little. When I grew up, I decided to study innovation related courses. I graduated from product innovation technologies and product engineering with marketing in Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

After my graduation, I started up a fashion tech company because I had a very frustrating online shopping experience in 2013, which is difficult to buy clothes that fit online. Then I recruited a team to develop a size matching system for giving size recommendations to the online shoppers once they input their body measurements.3 years of startup life later, I jumped into an education field for 2 years because I am touched by an Japanese anime called Hikaru No Go, it is about a “ghost ancient” passing on wisdom to the next generation which is just like what we can leave to the world after we die. I am curious about whether I could bring Leonardo to the modern as my “ghost ancient” by technology and I can learn his wisdom from him. Now, I have studied service design in the royal college of art, mainly focusing on designing future education services.

I am interested in preserving human wisdom with technology and finding the way to spread the knowledge on a large scale which can help our next generation equip future skills and design thinking to choose the way they want to live. I love adventure, experiencing something new, travelling, food, music and creation. I believe we can live the way we want if we are willing to add imagination and keep trying for our goal.

BACKGROUND
BACKGROUNDAccording to the future of job report, it urges us to equip future skills, like creativity, and problem-solving skill, to avoid being replaced by the machine. The world is urging us to equip future skills, but in Hong Kong, creativity is perceived as a gap to be filled by the current education system. From one of my interviews, a mother of 2 children shared with me a similar observation that children were born creative. Something happened in their life so their creativity dropped.
Deliverable
DeliverableSaipprentice - an online learning platform designed to offer an episodic learning journey under design thinking philosophy and PLAY methodology to awaken children’s creativity. The learning journey is composited of 2 formats of activities. The first one is an interactive video learning journey; another one is a collaborative gamification role-play missionary journey. They are suitable for primary 4 to secondary 3 students. It is also suitable for peer-to-peer learning, child-parent, and individual learning.

An online learning platform designed to offer an episodic learning journey to awakening children's creativity through the lens of creative role models.

4-GP4-GP is a service formed by four guideline packages which focus on presenting possible improvements to be applied to the existing probation system structure to reduce recalls for offenders. The main focus is on the communication gap identified through extended qualitative research with the assistance of Catch22 studio, Probation Practitioners (PP), and People on Probation (POPs).
Project Scope
Project ScopeCatch22 is a social business studio that cooperates with UK Ministry of Justice to build services for an alternative to recall system for those who are taken back to prison and pose no threat to society or themselves. In this project, our team were invited to design based on their pilot program which proposed the introduction of a new position: the navigator mentor.
