Mo Nan

Mo Nan is a London-based digital artist, fashion designer, and concept designer. His works focus on post-humanism and identity politics, reflecting thinking in an era when the Internet and reality are overly intertwined, exploring and deconstructing the meaning of human existence.

His work shuttles between game art and fashion design, exploring more possibilities in these two fields, and visually conveying inspiration and concepts to the audience.

Mo Nan-statement

The digital world brings us more and more immersive experiences, and it is even foreseeable that the real and virtual worlds will eventually become equally important. Real-life constraints of gender, social status, nationality, and personal biological characteristics will eventually cease to exist in the digital world. In such a free place, do we have the opportunity to explore our truer and deeper selves?

Mo Nan's work is based on the imagination of a future human identity. In his view, future identities will break away from the definition of 'human' and become continuously fluid, boundless beings. Therefore, he uses the mask as the core of his work, referring to the unknown abyss of identity, and presents it to the viewer in digital form.

The first part begins in a dark, quiet cave, like a womb, where the world begins. Here, the protagonist begins his adventure.

The second part is the world inside the mask. In this part, I explore the meaning of masks in the virtual world. In my utopia, masks become part of the characters' bodies, changing their behavior and giving them new personalities, leading them to another species, a fluid "identity".

The last part is the end of the film, which I use as a showcase to present my team and all the characters of the design. Maybe there is no end.
